Decriminalisation of possession of hard drugs (for instance highly addictive drugs like opioids, cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA etc.) means that these substances will remain illegal, but adults found in possession of 2.5 grams or less of the substances will have the drugs seized but will not be arrested or charged for drug possession. Additionally, the users are treated as ill persons in need of medical help, instead of treating them as criminals.
